NLA Gains Experience, Leadership and Focus towards a Greener Future
MARLTON, N.J. ( April 4, 2008) – Richard Kane was elected the new President of the National Limousine Association (NLA) by the NLA Board of Directors at its annual meeting held on March 16, 2008.
With over 20 years of expertise in the chauffeured transportation industry, Kane has quickly become the lead voice to enhance the NLA’s ongoing programs including legislative and regulatory reform, green initiatives and member education.
Since 1918, the Kane family has been one of the most well known and acknowledged leaders of business in Washington, DC. As the family's third generation business owner, Kane also serves as President and CEO of International Limousine Service, Inc., a Washington D.C.-based worldwide chauffeured transportation company. International was recently named to the 50 Fastest Growing Companies in Washington, D.C. by Smart CEO Magazine. With a fleet of 115 vehicles, International is the largest chauffeured transportation company in Washington, D.C.
“Becoming president of the NLA has been a long term goal for me and I am honored that the NLA board has chosen me for the job," said Kane."It is our responsibility as an organization to amend current laws to free our membership – almost all small businesses – from the onerous regulation and permitting fees we currently face and prepare our members for any impending legislation that could adversely affect them. Prior to taking on his role with the NLA, Kane served as director of the Washington Metropolitan Limousine Association and currently serves as a director of Washington, DC’s convention & visitor bureau, DestinationDC.
